1996: Recorded debut CD at Bearsville Studios (NY), Sear Sound (NY), and Conway Studio (LA), Produced by Jerry Finn (who also produced such multi-platinum acts such as Blink 182, Sum 41, Green Day and many, many others)Joey co-produced with Jerry, along with Coward.
-Joey played all guitar and sang all background vocals on record.
-Coward signs major record deal with Elektra records , followed by a major publishing deal with Warner Chappell publishing.
1997: Joey is lead guitarist and main background vocalist for Elektra recording group “Coward.” Joey also co-wrote the entire record with partner Sheppard, (who has gone on to produce and write with acts such as LFO (“Every Other Time”), Mandy Moore, Paulina Rubio, Amanda Latona, and many others)
-Coward does a 3- month summer tour opening for Third Eye Blind.(US).
-Coward shoots video for “I Don’t Care”,and performs on MTV show “Oddville”.
1998: Joey played guitar, sang background vocals, and was the musical director for Capitol recording artist Tommy Henriksen.
-Tommy Henriksen single is featured in movie “Blast from the Past” with Brendon Fraser, Alicia Silverstone and Christopher Walken (it was also the first song on the soundtrack).
-Performed at premiere of movie,(entire cast attended)
-appeared in music video with Tommy Henriksen for “I See The Sun”.
1999: Joey was guitarist and main backup vocalist for Capitol recording artist Meredith Brooks ( “I’m a Bitch” ).
-Played Madison Square Garden (NY) and the Staples Center (LA), both sold out, with Meredith Brooks opening for the Eurythmics.
-Performed on “Hard Rock Live” (VH1) with Meredith,(still continues to air).
-Performed on numerous TV shows with Meredith,incuding the Tonight Show with Jay Leno,(twice), Rosie O’Donnel show,Martin Short and Queen Latifah.
-Toured in Europe and Canada with Meredith ,which included appearances on the “Open Mic show with Mike Bullard” (Canada) and the “Top of the Pops” (Germany)”.
-Appeared in music video with Meredith Brooks for “Lay Down”, directed by Wayne Isham (also featured Queen Latifah.
2000: Joey played guitar and sang background vocals for Epic recording group “ ON”.
2001: “Human, Being Human” with Joey singing, is played on WB sitcom “Jack and Jill”.
2002: Joey signs publishing deal with BMG.
-BMG Germany music group “Natural” , managed by Lou Pearlman,releases full length, 9-song CD in Europe on sept 2. Joey wrote and produced a song called “Human, Being Human” on the record.
2003: Spent most of the year producing, performing, and writing with various different artists (see items of note below, for specifics)
2004: continues to stay as busy as ever, writing, producing and performing.

-producing and writing for and with such artists as Cori Yarckin (winner of AOL's first break competion), surely to be heard from in 2004, Nikki Shannon (incredible singer,songwriter,piano player), an artist that’s about to break BIG any second now...
-Sandra LaManna- Incredible singer/songwriter. Joey is producing, co-writing (with Sandra), and playing guitar. They are gearing up for record company showcases soon. You can listen to Sandra's music in the "listen" section of the site.
-East coast staff producer for California based MPI (musicianproducersinternational), with such musicians and other producers such as famed drummer Joey Heredia, and many other LA cats.
-co-writng with artists such as TM Stevens (legendary Bass player with the Pretenders, Joe Cocker, and many, many others), Gordon Brown (songwriter for RCA recording artists Highway 9, and fellow BMG writer), Jill Gioia, Andrew Fromm (writer for a bunch of Backstreet Boys songs, just to name one of many others), Jack D Ellipt (pop producer), David Anthony (dance, pop producer for such artists as Janet Jackson, among others), Lisa Drew ( succesful country songwriter, Jamie O'Neal's “There Is No Arizona”, among many others)
-Played guitar live for Michael McGlone (actor in Brothers Macmullen, among other major movies)
Joey Sykes plays Guitar, bass, and sings at an extremely high level. He also has a gifted knack of writing songs, and they are very radio friendly. Finally, as a producer, Joey is very musical, and can always make another artist shine and feel comfortable.
